Thinking Out Loud

As I’m renovating and buying stuff for my new apartment, I’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of lifestyle I wanna live. I get the feeling that many blogs promote consumerism – outfit posts with new clothes, ads for fashion companies, links to buy stuff on amazon, …
Of course there’s also a huge handmade and vintage blogworld out there but pretty much the only thing that seems to matter are recent purchases. Of course it’s nice to find a great deal and show it off online – but is it really necessary to own 20+ pairs of high heels? Or 50 summer dresses so you can wear a different one each day of the summer?
I usually clean out my closet every year or so to get rid of the clothes I haven’t worn for months. I think it’s about time to donate/sell some clothes so I don’t have to move with several boxes full of clothes. Owning less clothes means that you have more space for craft supplies that you can hide in your closet 🙂

I feel the same way… 🙂 I'm trying not to buy anything unless I absolutely *have* to, but it's tough goings to change that way of thinking for me, sometimes…
