Pattern: Bella’s Mittens by Marielle Henault
Yarn Used: Malabrigo Chunky (2 skeins of ‘Tuareg’)
Needles: 6mm DPNs
Modifications: I started on row 16 (CO 39 stitches) for a [somewhat] shorter version.
Thoughts:
This was my first time working with Malabrigo yarn and I’m addicted! It’s soo soft! It has a beautiful texture and the stitch definition is awesome. Have I mentioned that it’s soft? It’s really soft. This won’t be the last time working with this yarn 🙂
I’ve knitted these mittens before – several times. They were among the first projects I knitted without much help. They’re great for beginners because they look fancy yet they are very simple to knit and the pattern is very intuitive and you actually see mistakes as they happen, so you can prevent them 🙂
I might add a thin lining one day… I’m dreaming of a cashmere-blend inner mitten 😉
This is project #2 of 52 craft projects I’m attempting to complete in 2013.
You can see all the other projects I’ve complete so far here.

You are a knitting machine!! Looks like you are off to good start on you 52 goal this year. I love the horseshoe pattern. It adds great texture to the glove.
I can always tell if it is Malabrigo, it just has a perfect texture to it! I love the blue colorway too, it looks very trendy!
Oh my goodness, those are gorgeous. The Bella's Mittens have been in my queue for a few weeks, but I have to get some of my other projects off the needles before I let myself cast on some more. Yours are so pretty– that color is stunning!
