breathing space sweater

October 6, 2016

Hooray, I have a finish object to share! The breathing space sweater by Veera Välimäki is done!

If you watched the last podcast episode, you’ve already seen this. But a finished sweater deserves a blog post, right? I was in Bavaria last weekend for a family reunion and my mom offered to take pictures of my newly finished sweater. Thanks, mom!

The yarn I used is Madelintosh “Tosh Merino Light” (TML) in the color ways “Manor” and “Weathered Frame”. I love the color combination! It is neutral so I can wear it often, yet it is not the standard gray or navy I tend to wear.

It turned out a little bit on the big side (at least around the yoke), but I’m happy with the fit since I don’t like very snug fitting sweaters. The yarn is a dream – it is lightweight, fluffy, and warm. I purchased the yarn at Brooklyn General Store in New York City in June (click here and here to see pictures of my NYC adventure). Thanks, Sam, for helping me decide which color combination to pick!

Oh and it took me less than three months from acquisition to using up the yarn. Pretty impressive, right? Especially since I have some yarn in my stash that I’ve had for over 8 years… oops.

Last but not least, a goofy jumping picture! Because everyone needs to jump every once in a while, right?

Check my ravelry project page for information on the needles I used, more FO pictures and some in-progress pictures!
